The August campaign will fully fund a cure-focused Alzheimer’s disease research grant in 2027, with an additional $5,000 contribution from Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

Stop Alzheimer’s Now (SAN) is celebrating an extraordinary show of generosity from across Texas following its selection as Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods’ Charity of the Month for August. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Spec’s customers, the campaign raised $128,686 in customer donations at the register, directly supporting SAN’s mission to fund cure-focused Alzheimer’s disease research.

The impact of this campaign extends far beyond a single month of giving. The funds raised through Spec’s Charity of the Month program will fully fund a research grant in 2027, helping advance critical scientific work in the pursuit of a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

“On behalf of Stop Alzheimer’s Now, we are profoundly grateful to Spec’s for choosing SAN as its Charity of the Month and for creating such a meaningful opportunity to bring people together in the fight against Alzheimer’s,” said Shaun McDuffee, founder of Stop Alzheimer’s Now. “And to the people of Texas — every Spec’s customer who made a donation at the register and everyone who helped spread the word — thank you. Your generosity is making a tangible difference. Knowing that this one campaign will fully fund a cure-focused research grant in 2027 is incredibly powerful.”

A Partnership That Makes a Difference

Spec’s Charity of the Month program gives customers an opportunity to support charitable organizations while shopping at Spec’s locations throughout Texas. By inviting customers to contribute at the register, the program transforms everyday transactions into meaningful opportunities to support causes that matter to local communities.

For Stop Alzheimer’s Now, the August campaign demonstrated what is possible when a community comes together around a shared purpose. The extraordinary response from Spec’s customers, combined with Tito’s Handmade Vodka’s additional contribution, will help SAN continue its commitment to funding research focused on finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Sandy Greer, Executive Assistant to John Rydman, President and CEO of Spec’s, shared her perspective on the partnership:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Stop Alzheimer’s Now. The personal connection SAN’s founder has to this cause, combined with his passion and enthusiasm for advancing critical Alzheimer’s research, makes this partnership especially meaningful. We are proud to support an organization dedicated to funding research that brings us closer to a cure.”

Turning Generosity Into Research

Alzheimer’s disease affects millions of individuals and families, making the pursuit of effective treatments and a cure an urgent priority. Stop Alzheimer’s Now was founded with a clear mission: to help accelerate progress by directing funding toward research focused on finding a cure.

The $128,686 raised through Spec’s Charity of the Month campaign represents more than an impressive fundraising total. It represents a tangible investment in the future of Alzheimer’s research and a powerful example of how businesses, customers, and community partners can work together to make a lasting impact.

SAN extends its sincere thanks to Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods, its generous customers throughout Texas, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and everyone who helped make the August campaign such a success.

Together, we are funding the research that can change the future of Alzheimer’s disease.
